Peneliti menjelaskan bahwa metode modeling dapat meningkatkan kemampuan sains melalui perkembangan kemampuan problem solving. Pada metode modeling digunakan model konseptual sebagai aspek sentral dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan metode modeling pada pembelajaran Fisika efektif mengembangkan kemampuan problem solving siswa SMP. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji normalitas, uji-t satu pihak kanan (t-test), uji gain, uji signifikansi peningkatan hasi belajar, dan analisis kemampuan problem solving. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode modeling dalam pembelajaran fisika, mampu mengembangkan kemampuan problem solving siswa SMP. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ To overcome the low science abilites of students, research of modeling methods of physics instruction implementation was conducted. The researcher describes that modeling method can improve sciences abilities through the development of problem solving abilities. In modeling method a conceptual model was used as a central aspect of learning. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of the modeling method implementation on the problem solving abilities of Junior High School students. Data analysis include normality test, one tail test (t-test), gain test, significant learning result improvement test, and problem solving abilities analysis.
