Situational algorithmic tasks with the assembling of program code as a tool for developing computational thinking
: This paper summarizes the experience with the development of situational algorithmic tasks, the solution of which is based on assembling a program from blocks. This paper deals with the didactic background of two created templates (worlds) in which a given problem is solved by programming a sprite. Based on these templates, sets of tasks, which are applicable in lessons as part of the new computer science curriculum, were created. Moreover, other tasks, which were included in the Bebras Challenge, were created. Being used in lessons, these tasks were perceived by teachers as useful, beneficial and they were found not being difficult for pupils.
