The fragmentary character of the representation of the different Brazilian provinces is highlighted, seeking to find their reasons in the political, ideological and social mosaic. The main clashes with the Portuguese deputies and the different positions that emerged are studied, revealing the difficulty in reaching a constitutional text that reconciled Brazilian and Portuguese interests and claims.Keywords: Brazilian constitutionalism.
