The antenna comprises a rectangular monopole fed by a microstrip transmission line to generate WLAN and WiMAX frequency bands and a circular disc monopole to resonate in 3.5 GHz WiMAX frequency band. A simple formula for calculating the resonant frequency is given. The antenna is simple in configuration outlining an overall dimension of 44 × 20 × 0.76 mm3.
