This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of the use of types of figures and techniques for the presentation of the character's character in the students' short stories. The data were analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identified a general description of the data analyzed as well as coding the text, (2) inventorying the research data coding, (3) analyzing the characters and characterizing short story texts by students, (4) interpreting data based on theory and conclude the findings then write the report. Based on the results of the study, the results of the research there were two. First, the types of figures that tend to be used by grade IX SMP Negeri 21 Padang in the short story texts written are additional figures, protagonists, simple characters, static figures and neutral figures. 摘要

摘要:本研究对九级SMP Negeri 21 Padang短文本中人物的表现类型和手法进行了研究。这种类型的研究是定性的,采用描述性的方法。本研究的数据是以学生短篇小说中人物性格表现的人物类型和手法为形式的定性数据。数据分析的步骤是:(1)研究者对所分析的数据进行一般描述并对文本进行编码,(2)对研究数据编码进行盘点,(3)对学生的短篇故事文本进行人物分析和特征描述,(4)基于理论对数据进行解释并总结发现并撰写报告。根据研究的结果,研究的结果有两种。首先,九年级SMP Negeri 21 Padang在撰写的短篇故事文本中倾向于使用的人物类型有附加人物、主角、简单人物、静态人物和中性人物。第二,小学九年级学生在撰写短篇故事时所使用的人物呈现技巧是分析技巧、动作技巧和文字技巧。Kata Kunci: Tokoh, Penokohan, Teks Cerpen
