Changes In Learning Behaviour Upon Receiving Mobile Devices: An Observational Study In A University Teaching Hospital
1. BACKGROUND Increasing financial constraints on most academic institutions have resulted in less face-to-face teaching and introducing a greater need for electronic resources either using web based software packages, e-books or videos [1]. The introduction of electronic learning services has provided alternative learning methods for medical students. With the advent of the smartphone and tablet, there are now several user-friendly devices available for use in the hospital environment. These have been seen as acceptable formats of learning from clinicians, patients and students [2]. With over 30,000 medical apps available it is likely to be where the future of medical education heads [3]
