摘要

本文的目的是描述英语课堂阅读教学的问题和挑战。基本上,本文认为阅读教学和阅读能力未能实现,学生通过阅读获得的知识和技能不足。阅读教学一直充斥着让学生感到无聊的问题。这些问题包括:普通词表词汇的读写能力、词汇难词、学术词汇、语法复杂、不恰当的文本、学术文本的复杂性、阅读习惯和文化、缺乏图式激活、缺乏阅读动机、阅读教学准备不足。本文提出了大学阅读教学在学术目的语境下的替代方案。
