COVID-19, Inequalities and Privileges in Brazilian Professional Education
This article addresses the issue of inequalities and privileges among Brazilian Professional Education students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our objective is to problematize the difficulties of students’ access to remote classes offered by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology from the North of Minas Gerais – IFNMG. This study, in the light of Bourdieu and Passeron’s concept of Cultural Capital (2018), when analyzing recent data from a technical report produced by the Institution, notes the persistence of an educational structure for reproducing social inequalities that also extends dramatically to the virtual environment, reproducing forms of domination and class privileges. © 2022, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul,Faculdade de Educacao.
