Tecnologia CAD-CAM come strumento per l’ottimizzazione e la semplificazione della riabilitazione complessa
Objectives
To examine the clinical protocol to make a complex oral rehabilitation supported by implants and teeth by using CAD-CAM technology. This approach allows for a predictable final restauration in few clinical appointments, offering important advantages to clinicians and patients.
Materials and methods
Clinical approach to complex cases is crucial in order to reduce treatment time maintaining predictability and a high-quality level of treatment. Scientific literature if on the one side confirms the limits associated with classic techniques of framework casting, on the other side underlines how CAD-CAM technology is a real chance to simplify technical procedures for the making of prosthetic restaurations.
Results
After defining the final outline of the prosthetic restaurations, the following clinical sequence consists in final impressions, verification of precision, and passivity of resin prototypes and in the delivery of definitive prosthesis.
Conclusions
The use of this new technology on the one side gives clinicians and patients the chance to finalize complex rehabilitations with more predictability and reduced treatment times, on the other side allows dental technicians to simplify the fabrication of high quality frameworks.
