Abstract Meckel’s Diverticulum (MD) is the most common congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract, caused by incomplete obliteration of the vitelline duct. Meckel’s diverticulitis often mimics acute appendicitis, and usually diagnosed during a laparotomy. We present a rare case of MD that was initially diagnosed as periappendiceal abscess and referred for percutaneous drainage. Careful review of images by radiologist revealed communication with ileum suggesting MD as the etiology. Operative findings and pathology subsequently confirmed it.
