OBJECTIVE

DESIGN
Prospective study.
SETTING
District general hospital otolaryngology outpatient clinic.
PATIENTS
Eighty-seven patients from a general otolaryngology clinic with no laryngeal or pharyngeal symptoms or pathology.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES
