A Onomástica em destaque: da sincronia à diacronia / The Onomastique: From Synchrony to Diachrony

A pesquisa onomástica é de grande importância para o conhecimento de aspectos histórico-culturais de um povo, pois permite identificar fatos linguísticos, ideologias e crenças presentes no ato denominativo e, posteriormente, na sua possível permanência em uma comunidade. A partir da premissa de que se trata de uma pesquisa que colabora para a preservação da memória de uma sociedade, constituindo marcas identitárias, propõe-se apresentar os estudos que se inserem nessa área, desenvolvidos no âmbito do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Linguísticos da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), nos primeiros vinte anos do século XXI. Destacam-se diferentes olhares sob variados objetos de pesquisa voltados ao estudo do nome próprio, observados em perspectivas sincrônica e diacrônica.Palavras-chave: onomástica; toponímia; cultura; sincronia; diacronia.The Onomastic research is of great importance for the knowledge of historical and cultural aspects of a people, as it allows the identification of linguistic facts, ideologies and beliefs present in the denominational act and, later, in its permanence or not in a community. Based on the premise that it is a research that contributes to the preservation of a society’s memory, constituting identity marks, it is proposed to present the studies that fall within this area, developed within the scope of the Graduate Program in Linguistic Studies at the Faculty of Letters at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in the first twenty years of the 21st century. Different views stand out, under various research objects about the study of the proper name, observed in synchronic and diachronic perspectives.Keywords: onomastics; toponymy; culture; synchrony; diachrony.
