Their exceptional preservation, in finely laminated dolomitic mudstones, was mediated by tidally-influenced conditions and/or microbial entombment. Shelly biomineralized animals are rare, but soft-bodied organisms are common. Arthropods dominate, including trilobites, phyllocarids, ostracodes, a thylacocephalan, a synziphosurine and various enigmatic groups.
