Selan itu Perairan Tanjung Api-Api juga dimanfaatkan sebagai areal pemukiman, transportasi dan direncanakan sebagai area pelabuhan kedepannya. Kondisi ini tentu dapat berpotensi meningkatkan masukan bahan pencemar seperti logam berat ke perairan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menentukan konsentrasi logam Pb dan Cu serta menganalisis kelayakan pangan pada daging ikan yang tertangkap di perairan Tanjung Api-Api Sumatera Selatan. Terdapat 3 jenis ikan yang dominan tertangkap yaitu ikan senangin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum), puput (Ilisha elongata) dan bawal putih (Pampus argenteus). Ketiga ikan tersebut diambil bagian dagingnya dan dianalisis kandungan logam berat Pb dan Cu mengacu pada SNI 2354.5 : 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi Pb pada ketiga jenis ikan berkisar antara 0,89-5,89 mg/kg (rata-rata 2,28-3,28 mg/kg) dan konsentrasi Cu berkisar antara 0,06 – 1,28 mg/kg (rata-rata 0,20 – 0,78 mg/kg). Berdasarkan baku mutu BPOM, SNI 7387:2009 dan FAO (1983) akumulasi Pb telah melebihi batas yang diperkenankan. Sedangkan akumulasi Cu berdasarkan baku mutu P FAO (1983) dan Soegianto (2008) masih dibawah batas yang diperkenankan.  Tanjung Api-Api waters is an area that widely used as a fishery activity in the Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera. Tanjung Api-Api waters are also used as residential area, transportation and as a port area. This condition can increase the input of pollutants such as heavy metals. The purpose of this study was to determine the Pb and Cu metal concentrations in fish from Tanjung Api-Api waters, South Sumatera. There are 3 types of fish that are predominantly caught, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Ilisha elongata and Pampus argenteus. The three fish were taken part of the meat and analyzed the content of heavy metals Pb and Cu referring to SNI 2354.5: 2011. This reseach show that Pb concentrations in all types fish ranged from 0.89 to 5.89 mg/kg (average 2.28-3.28 mg/kg) and Cu concentrations ranged from 0.06 - 1.28 mg/kg (average 0.20 - 0.78 mg/kg). Based on National Food and Drug Agency, SNI 7387: 2009 and FAO (1983) the accumulation of Pb were exceeded specified quality standards.
