摘要
Past studies have discussed the "socialist" nature of agricultural development in China in terms of equality in distribution since the introduction of the Household Response System (HRS) and its institutional requirements This article reads addresses the issue of the modernization of the peer economy by exploring the various practices in agricultural production that led to a social path since 1980 The peer economy under the HRS takes the form of a dual layer management, and the collective economy is under the unified management by the collective The collective economic products of the modernization of the peer economy by the means of integration of funding, integration of land rights, and land concentration, objectively, in response to the different phases in the development of the forces of production What is emerging in China is the fourth path to agricultural modeling characteristic of China, after the existing three paths, named capitalist agriculture of large private farms, socialist agriculture of large collective farms, and the capitalist agriculture of small family farms This new path, or socialized culture of small family farms, is characterized by the enlargement of the management unit on the basis of the collective economy that covers the constraints of the peer economy However, while institutional possibilities do exist for a social path in agricultural development in China, the policies pursued by the Chinese government are turning Chinese agriculture into capital agriculture of small family farms, This article attempts to reveal the practice of China's socialist road since 1980 from the perspective of agricultural production, and explore the modernization of small-scale agricultural economy. After the reform of the household contract management system, the small-scale peasant economy adopted a double-layer management system, and the collective economy existed in a collective unified management manner. At different stages of productivity, collective economy promotes the modernization of small-scale peasant economy through the integration of funds, land ownership integration, and land concentration. From the perspective of expanding agricultural management units in the collective economy and overcoming the limitations of small-scale peasant economy, China has explored a fourth path of agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics, namely socialist small-scale peasant family agriculture, in addition to capitalist private large-scale farm agriculture, socialist collective large-scale farm agriculture, and capitalist small-scale peasant family agriculture. There is institutional space for China's agricultural development to move towards a socialist path, but the policy choices of the Chinese government have led to the development of Chinese agriculture moving towards capitalist style small-scale peasant family agriculture. The Modernization of the Peasant Economy: In Search of the Socialist Path (小农经济现代化的社会主义道路)
Past studies have discussed the “socialist” nature of agricultural development in China in terms of equality in distribution since the introduction of the Household Responsibility System ( HRS ) and its institutional necessities. This article instead addresses the issue of the modernization of the peasant economy by exploring the various practices in agricultural production that led to a socialist path since 1980. The peasant economy under the HRS takes the form of a dual-layer management, and the collective economy is under the unified management by the collective. The collective economy propels the modernization of the peasant economy by the means of integration of funding, integration of land rights, and land concentration, respectively, in response to the different phases in the development of the forces of production. What is emerging in China is the fourth path to agricultural modernization characteristic of China, after the existing three paths, namely capitalist agriculture of large private farms, socialist agriculture of large collective farms, and the capitalist agriculture of small family farms. This new path, or socialist agriculture of small family farms, is characterized by the enlargement of the management unit on the basis of the collective economy that overcomes the constraints of the peasant economy. However, while institutional possibilities do exist for a socialist path in agricultural development in China, the policies pursued by the Chinese government are turning Chinese agriculture into capitalist agriculture of small family farms. (This article is in Chinese.)
