In Vietnam, there are still sculptures in temples depicting a turtle with a Lac bird on its shell. The image of the crane was used by Buddhism. A lonely crane in Confucianism is a hint of a major dignitary dissatisfied with his fate, perhaps retired and therefore inclined to Taoism.
