Unusual new species of Styphelia (Ericaceae, Epacridoideae, Styphelieae) from north-eastern Australia
Styphelia geniculata Crayn and S. piliflora Crayn are described, phylogenetically placed and compared with related species. Their relationships within Ericaceae tribe Styphelieae, resolved by phylogenetic analysis of plastid and nuclear DNA sequences, support their description in the expanded genus Styphelia. Descriptive taxonomic papers should normally constitute a comprehensive treatment of a group.
