Pengaruh penyemprotan ekstrak bunga rosella dan larutan sodium hipoklorit terhadap stabilitas dimensi cetakan polivinil siloksan
Introduction: Polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) is an elastomeric impression material that is often used in dentistry. American Dental Association (ADA) recommends disinfection of impression materials to reduce cross contamination. The disinfection technique recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is spraying. Which can reduce the risk of changing dimensions of the mold. This study aims to determine the effect of spraying roselle flower extract 40% and sodium hypochlorite solution on the dimensional stability of polyvinyl siloxane molds. Methods : The type of research used was experimental laboratory. Samples obtained using Federer formula from the stainless-steel stem models in the form of 2 crowns were prepared with a height/occlusogingival of 8.02 mm, diameter/buccolingual was 6.33 mm, distance between 2 abutments teeth was 28.25 mm. Conclusion: 40% roselle flower extract and 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution can be used as an alternative to disinfect polyvinyl siloxane impression materials with changes in dimensional stability that can still be tolerated because it was still below 0.05%.
