The correlations between social media addiction and neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness are <math>\n <mover>\n <mi>r</mi>\n <mo>¯</mo>\n </mover></math> = .17, .03, −.03, −.07 and −.15, respectively. The findings indicate that neuroticism is a risk factor for social media addiction, whereas agreeableness and conscientiousness are protective factors.
