is article analyzes the relationship between testimonials, the common and the precariousness based on a case study of a woman and the calvary she created for her son, who was murdered in Medellín. is work asks what those narratives of violent acts are actually expressing and how they evince some ways to live in mourning in the public space. e mourning impacts the community, thus providing them with both an ontological and a political dimension. is research is based on a qualitative methodology and used as strategy the ethno-methodology. e research techniques applied herein were direct observation, documentary review and in-depth interviews. e memory agency brings to the public sphere the hurt caused by the violence and the mourning appears as a shared precariousness and is liable to be transformed. is allows the memory not only to reect the past, but also to think about the future.
