Tandem e motivazione:un binomio virtuoso. Come un tandem virtuale fra l’università di Magonza e l’università di Parma ha alimentato la motivazione all’apprendimento della L2.

The paper presents a ten-week tandem project which was carried out in spring 2021 by the Universities of Parma and Mainz for the acquisition of Italian/ German as a second language. The project focuses on promoting motivation through the tandem as a prerequisite for successful learning, and is consequently subjected to a qualitative assessment in the final considerations through the examination of the participants’ feedback from this point of view. The relationship between learner autonomy and teacher supervision is also discussed, as well as practical solutions as to how a tandem program should be conducted.
