In this work we have designed a home practical work in which some fundamental concepts of chemical kinetics and catalysis are developed quantitatively. Students are introduced here to wastewater treatment using an advanced oxidation process; the Fenton reaction. From the results of a preactivity survey, students showed motivation and high expectations with the activity proposal. From a post-activity survey, we concluded that the perception of students towards the activity did not change after completing it.
