Goals : Make a catalogue of the species of squids inhabiting Mexican waters using specimens housed at the Colección de Peces e Invertebrados Marinos y Estuarinos of Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biológicas (CPIME-ENCB), Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Methods : To identify specimens, we used taxonomic keys and descriptions. Results : The collection has 420 specimens corresponding to 2 orders (Myopsida and Oegopsida), 4 families (Loliginidae, Cranchidae, Enoploteuthidae and Ommastrephidae) and 13 species. Most individuals were collected in the Gulf of California and southwestern Gulf of Mexico.
