The book covers issues of memory, forgetfulness, death, violence and the search for gender identity, as well as pointing to childhood as a mythological space in the final years of the Brazilian military dictatorship. Considering this context, the focus of the research is still to discuss conflicts of subjects living on the margins of society, such as Wilson, who, to get rid of the shadow of the twin brother, violent William, and male identity, metamorphoses into Cleopatra.
