The vaccine gave twofold increased binding antibodies, measured by ELISA, against non-capsular outer membrane antigen in 85 per cent of those vaccinated. Bactericidal antibodies towards a meningococcal serogroup C serotype 2a strain also increased fourfold or more among 85% vaccinated.
