模糊推理系统(FIS)使用其处理能力π i $$ {\pi}_i $$评估每个认证和合格的设备,当前工作负荷λ I $$ {\lambda}_i $$,可用带宽β I $$ {\beta}_i $$,剩余能量E i $$ {E}_i $$和信任得分T i$$ {T}_i $$生成适用性评分S i $$ {S}_i $$。 实验结果表明,所提出的BCHAuth和FGWO认证成功率最高(95.81)%), minimum energy consumption (2.87 mJ), network bandwidth usage (10.52 kbps), average task allocation time (77.564 ms), CPU and memory utilization (28.85% and 32.62%), task latency and task waiting time (32.13 and 13.45ms), and the highest packet delivery ratio (PDR) (87.73%).

Blockchain-Enabled Cross-Device Authentication and Efficient Task Allocation Using Fuzzy Grey Wolf Optimization for IoT Networks

Cross-device authentication and task allocation across IoT devices, nodes, sensors, and gateways are difficult due to limited resource constraints and the heterogeneous nature of IoT devices. Traditionally, IoT devices rely on centralized servers, which pose single points of failure, data breaches, and security risks. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a framework for cross-device authentication and task allocation in an IoT network. To enable secure, faster cross-device communication, the paper proposed the BCHAuth algorithm, which integrates blockchain and ChaCha20-Poly1305 cryptography. Additionally, for optimal task allocation, FGWO is proposed coupled with fuzzy logic and grey wolf optimization algorithm. Initially, each IoT device is assigned a unique, decentralized ID and transaction records are stored in the blockchain's on-chain metadata via a smart contract. Smart contracts define the registration process and authentication protocols to ensure that only authorized devices with valid credentials can participate in the IoT network. To address the complex task-allocation problem, the proposed FGWO adapts conventional GWO to the discrete and heterogeneous IoT environment. The fuzzy inference system (FIS) evaluates each authenticated and eligible device using its processing power π i $$ {\pi}_i $$ , current workload λ i $$ {\lambda}_i $$ , available bandwidth β i $$ {\beta}_i $$ , residual energy E i $$ {E}_i $$ and trust score T i $$ {T}_i $$ to generate a suitability score S i $$ {S}_i $$ . The suitability score guides the initialization of discrete task-to-device allocation candidates, while the conventional GWO leader-based mechanism performs exploration and exploitation. Following the position update, fuzzy suitability information is further used during candidate refinement to redirect selected tasks toward higher-suitability feasible devices. To evaluate the performance of the proposed BCHAuth and FGWO algorithms, they are compared with several state-of-the-art algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed BCHAuth and FGWO achieve maximum authentication success rate (95.81%), minimum energy consumption (2.87 mJ), network bandwidth usage (10.52 kbps), average task allocation time (77.564 ms), CPU and memory utilization (28.85% and 32.62%), task latency and task waiting time (32.13 and 13.45ms), and the highest packet delivery ratio (PDR) (87.73%).

期刊介绍: The International Journal of Communication Systems provides a forum for R&D, open to researchers from all types of institutions and organisations worldwide, aimed at the increasingly important area of communication technology. The Journal''s emphasis is particularly on the issues impacting behaviour at the system, service and management levels. Published twelve times a year, it provides coverage of advances that have a significant potential to impact the immense technical and commercial opportunities in the communications sector. The International Journal of Communication Systems strives to select a balance of contributions that promotes technical innovation allied to practical relevance across the range of system types and issues. The Journal addresses both public communication systems (Telecommunication, mobile, Internet, and Cable TV) and private systems (Intranets, enterprise networks, LANs, MANs, WANs). The following key areas and issues are regularly covered: -Transmission/Switching/Distribution technologies (ATM, SDH, TCP/IP, routers, DSL, cable modems, VoD, VoIP, WDM, etc.) -System control, network/service management -Network and Internet protocols and standards -Client-server, distributed and Web-based communication systems -Broadband and multimedia systems and applications, with a focus on increased service variety and interactivity -Trials of advanced systems and services; their implementation and evaluation -Novel concepts and improvements in technique; their theoretical basis and performance analysis using measurement/testing, modelling and simulation -Performance evaluation issues and methods.
