Neurosarcoidosis was historically reported to occur in 5%-10% of all patients with sarcoidosis. Neurosarcoidosis can present with a myriad of clinical symptoms, including cranial neuropathy, myelopathy, and parenchymal involvement. Conventional imaging is often nonspecific and central nervous system biopsy to confirm the diagnosis is infrequently performed. Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) is a useful modality in the evaluation of neurosarcoidosis, for assessing systemic involvement and identifying biopsiable site.
