Methods - An educational program with a suture workshop using a simulation model was offered to obstetrician-gynecologists from several maternity units. The suture workshops were filmed and then evaluated twice by three experts using an OSATS grid. The scores awarded were compared to assess the reliability and validity of the OSATS grid. Results - The training was presented to 30 physicians. The OSATS score was a reliable (Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.905) and valid (inter-rater ICC of 0.892, and intra-rater ICC of 0.889 and 0.710) method for assessing professionals' technical skills. Conclusion - In a simulation context, OSATS scores are reliable and valid educational tools for training healthcare professionals.
