Diagnosis was confirmed by rDNA sequencing. The isolate was resistant to posaconazole but susceptible to amphotericin B. Treatment with intravenous amphotericin B, in conjunction with prompt catheter removal, resulted in full recovery, consistent with ISPD guideline principles.
