After 8 h of simulated sunlight, the whiteness of the treated fabric (76.8%) showed a significant improvement of 30.6% compared to a similar treatment without imidazole (58.8%), and even surpassed that of the untreated fabric (76.5%). Furthermore, the fabric maintained 99.9% inhibition rates against <i>E. coli</i> and <i>S. aureus</i> after 20 washes, with no adverse effects on other performance characteristics.
