This study aimed at developing and evaluating the psychometric properties of the Compassionate Care in Clinical Nursing Practice (CCCNP) tool to measure compassionate care by nurses from the perspective of patients in the Indian context. <b>Methods:</b> This methodological investigation was conducted in three phases: concept analysis through a hybrid model, item generation, and psychometric evaluation. The initial item pool contained 48 items. <b>Results:</b> Four factors, explaining 76.11% of the total variance, were identified from 21 items. The correlation coefficient of the tool was .79 and the Cronbach's alpha was .950. <b>Conclusion:</b> The CCCNP has acceptable reliability and validity.
