Their structural diversity and functional significance have attracted considerable attention in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and materials science. Among them, aza-/oxa-polyquinanes possess interesting biological properties and play significant role in material science as high-density candidates, due to their unique molecular architecture and electronic characteristics. This review demonstrates our own efforts as well as several other contributions that led to the building of various heteropolyquinanes and related molecules.
