Experiential Reflecting Teams in the Training of Group Counselors
Using a comparative case study design, this study explored the reflecting team (RT) method in group training among counseling students (n = 26). Participants were assigned to either the experiential group (EG) or RT, and group climate was assessed using the Group Climate Questionnaire (GCQ-S). Results indicated that RT members reported higher avoidance, but similar levels of engagement and conflict compared to EG members. Rooted in social constructivist theory, the study explored experiential instruction in group training.
