Tumor de colisión pancreático entre adenocarcinoma bien diferenciado y carcinoma indiferenciado de células gigantes tipo osteoclasto: descripción de un caso y revisión de la literatura
Collision tumors are rare neoplasms composed of two histologically different cell lines in the same location. They are usually formed by the collision between carcinomas and sarcomas/lymphomas.
We present the case of an 81-year-old man with obstructive jaundice who was diagnosed with a mass in the head of the pancreas. A cephalic duodenopancreatectomy was performed, and histological analysis revealed a collision tumor between invasive ductal adenocarcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma with osteoclast-like giant cells.
These tumors are usually diagnosed after surgery, and the prognosis may vary depending on the grade and stage of each histological lineage at the time of diagnosis.
