VOSviewer 1.6.20 and CiteSpace 6.3.R1 software were used to conduct descriptive analysis, including publications, authors, countries, institutions, journals, cited journals, cited authors, cited references, and keywords from various angles.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 221 publications were included. Paper production has increased over the past 20 years, despite fluctuations. The most productive country is China, whose Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the institution with the highest number of papers. Germany's Brinkhaus, Benno has the most papers in the discipline, while Bousquet J is the most influential author. Medicine is a journal that has the most research on Chinese medicine for treating AR, while Allergy has the most citations. The most frequently cited reference is a guideline concerning the diagnosis and treatment of AR.
