Carbocyanines with metal chelating groups as promising tools for diagnostics and therapy
The application of carbocyanines with complexing groups as sensors for small molecules and metal ions is considered. Complexing carbocyanines capable of binding strongly and selectively to analytes to generate a reliable fluorescent response are promising for the development of sensor systems and study of cellular processes. The synthesis of new functionalized carbocyanines extends a possibility of detecting not only metals but also organic compounds in low concentrations, which is important for human health diagnostics and monitoring.
期刊介绍:
Publishing nearly 500 original articles a year, by leading Scientists from Russia and throughout the world, Russian Chemical Bulletin is a prominent international journal. The coverage of the journal spans practically all areas of fundamental chemical research and is presented in five sections:
General and Inorganic Chemistry;
Physical Chemistry;
Organic Chemistry;
Organometallic Chemistry;
Chemistry of Natural Compounds and Bioorganic Chemistry.
