A rapid and green synthesis of a novel 1-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)methyl-3-(4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)-1,8-naphthyridin-2(1H)-one derivatives was proposed. The synthesized derivatives were evaluated for the biological evaluation of antibacterial and antifungal activity. All the assessed compounds exhibited promising antimicrobial activity, among all compounds 1-[5-(3-fluorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]methyl-3-(4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)-1,8-naphthyridin-2(1H)-one showing the strongest MIC values against Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis (23, 23.5 μg/mL), Escherichia coli, P. aeruginosa (22.5, 26.5 μg/mL), Candida albicans (23.5 μg/mL), and Candida metapsilosis (24 μg/mL), Aspergillus terreus (25.5 μg/mL), Aspergillus niger (26 μg/mL), compared with the clinical reference drugs ampicillin and griseofulvin.
