Transformations of 2-(Pentafluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one with Alkylamines into Antimicrobial and Anti-Influenza Agents
The interaction of 2′,3′,4′,5′,6′-pentafluoroflavone with alkylamines was studied, leading to the regioselective formation of nucleophilic aromatic substitution products of the fluorine atom at the activated C4′ center. Evaluation of the biological activity of the synthesized flavones revealed compounds with high antifungal, anti-gonorrheal, and anti-influenza activity. Molecular docking showed that the mechanism of influenza virus strain A/Puerto Rico/8/34 (H1N1) inhibition by the obtained flavones may be associated with neuraminidase blocking.
期刊介绍:
Russian Journal of General Chemistry is a journal that covers many problems that are of general interest to the whole community of chemists. The journal is the successor to Russia’s first chemical journal, Zhurnal Russkogo Khimicheskogo Obshchestva (Journal of the Russian Chemical Society ) founded in 1869 to cover all aspects of chemistry. Now the journal is focused on the interdisciplinary areas of chemistry (organometallics, organometalloids, organoinorganic complexes, mechanochemistry, nanochemistry, etc.), new achievements and long-term results in the field. The journal publishes reviews, current scientific papers, letters to the editor, and discussion papers.
