Design of hybrid MAC protocol using modified marine predators optimization algorithm for machine-to-machine communication
Future M2M communications will likely have many intriguing uses. But their massive deployment has serious drawbacks. The biggest challenge is making sure the wireless medium and network can support thousands of devices in this communication pattern while elegantly meeting varying quality of service needs. In this setting, medium access control is important. Schedule-related approaches may have inadequate delay assurances and limited scalability, whereas contention-related protocols will be inefficient under heavy loads. Also, tree-related contention resolution approaches have limited latency. Literature has taught hybrids of the above strategies to solve traditional media access difficulties. This work creates a Hybrid MAC Protocol for M2M Communication utilising HMACP-MMPOA. The HMACP-MMPOA method maximises aggregation throughput and reservation ratio by selecting optimum contention and transmission intervals. Transmission, Contention, and Notification periods make up each frame. MMPOA is also derived from regular MPOA by adding spiral searching. The ideal contention-transmission period relationship for many devices is also calculated. The HMACP-MMPOA approach is enhanced by extensive simulation studies. Simulations showed that HMACP-MMPOA outperforms alternative protocols.

期刊介绍: in Shams Engineering Journal is an international journal devoted to publication of peer reviewed original high-quality research papers and review papers in both traditional topics and those of emerging science and technology. Areas of both theoretical and fundamental interest as well as those concerning industrial applications, emerging instrumental techniques and those which have some practical application to an aspect of human endeavor, such as the preservation of the environment, health, waste disposal are welcome. The overall focus is on original and rigorous scientific research results which have generic significance. Ain Shams Engineering Journal focuses upon aspects of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, environmental engineering, architectural and urban planning engineering. Papers in which knowledge from other disciplines is integrated with engineering are especially welcome like nanotechnology, material sciences, and computational methods as well as applied basic sciences: engineering mathematics, physics and chemistry.
