Barriers included limited initial understanding of WIC, misperceptions of benefits, and challenging shopping experiences, such as finding WIC-eligible foods and stigma.</p><p><strong>Conclusions and implications: </strong>Participants value WIC staff, programming, and social support, but misperceptions and negative shopping experiences remain barriers to participation.
