The current study aimed to evaluate the total phenolic contents, the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of <em>A. dracunculus</em> and <em>A. ampeloprasum</em> extracts and their chemical profiling-based on GC-MS as well as UPLC–PDA–ESI–QTOF–MS/MS analysis. The butanolic extract of <em>A. dracunculus</em> displayed the most potent antioxidant activity in DPPH and <em>β</em>-carotene bleaching methods with IC<sub>50</sub> values of 37.6 and 33.18 μg/mL, respectively. None of the extracts demonstrated cytotoxicity against MCF7, SW48, and NIH 3T3 cell lines. Results from GC-MS analysis of the essential oil (EO) revealed that phenyl propanoids (76.6 %) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (30.4 %) were the most abundant components of the EO of <em>A. dracunculus</em> and <em>A. ampeloprasum,</em> respectively.
