Indications, contraindications, and standardized protocols are discussed, alongside emerging trends in CPET technology.</p><p><strong>Expert opinion: </strong>CPET is a potent tool for assessing, evaluating, and diagnosing pediatric respiratory diseases. Standardized protocols, age-specific reference values, and novel CPET parameters enhance clinical utility.
