Educational technology for patient participation in the safe administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy: methodological study.

Objective: to develop an educational technology to promote patient participation in the safe administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy drugs.

Method: applied methodological study conducted between 2021 and 2023, in three hospitals in a city in the interior of São Paulo, developed in five stages: integrative literature review; approach to the reality of the healthcare production environment; development of educational technology; evidence of face and content validity by judges; analysis of semantic agreement of the educational technology.

Results: an infographic and nine verification cards were developed. In the validation of 15 judges, the overall Content Validity Index for the infographic and verification cards was obtained at 82% and 84%, respectively, and the overall Content Validity Ratio was 0.63 and 0.75. In the last stage. Semantic validation was conducted by applying the technologies to 15 patients with a Semantic Agreement Index of 0.97.

Conclusion: the educational technology developed was considered valid in terms of face, content and semantics and can be applied to patient participation during the administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy drugs.
