Bioinformatics analysis was performed to examine the link between miR-3614-5p and SLC4A4. The influences of miR-3614-5p and SLC4A4 levels on prostate cancer cells were analyzed using CCK-8, EdU, cell-scratch, Transwell, and flow cytometry analyses. A nude-mouse tumor model was created by injecting mice with PC3 cells subcutaneously. MiR-3614-5p and SLC4A4 levels in cancer cells and tumor tissues were measured using quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blot analyses. 100 nM PPLN dramatically decreased the proliferation, migration, and invasion of prostate cancer cells and promoted apoptosis. MiR-3614-5p reduced SLC4A4 levels, and both the reduction of miR-3614-5p and increase of SLC4A4 expression greatly promoted the malignancy behavior of cells. Low miR-3614-5p expression decreased PPLN's inhibitory effect on malignant behavior, which was reversed by down-regulation of SLC4A4. PPLN reduced tumor growth in mice, increased miR-3614-5p levels, and decreased SLC4A4 levels.
