This study aims to analyze the currently available protocols for handover in Bavarian level 1 neonatology units and to summarize them in a standardized handover form.A multicenter analysis of 20 level 1 neonatology units in Bavaria was carried out. Fourteen handover forms were analyzed and examined for similarities. After creating a new form with the greatest possible overlap, this was mirrored back in two Delphi surveys by the participating clinics and adapted accordingly.By analyzing 14 forms, exactly 100 parameters were identified. For the design of the new sheet, all the parameters were considered with the greatest possible overlap. This resulted in a newly structured handover sheet.The newly structured handover form represents the intersection of parameters that were considered essential by the participating Bavarian level 1 neonatology units.
