[Overview of clinical manifestations, diagnosis and management of acute allergic disorders].
Allergological emergencies represent a particular challenge in clinical practice, as they require rapid identification and appropriate treatment to prevent serious complications and life-threatening courses. These emergencies primarily include life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reactions-anaphylaxis-which can manifest on the skin as generalized urticaria and the development of angioedema, as well as severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (SCADR). Among these, toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) represents the most severe one with a mortality rate of up to 30%. In the following article, we will discuss the current state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment strategies for these dermatological emergencies and highlight new and promising therapeutic approaches.
