Oxidative damage and inflammation are underlying reasons to chronic disease pathogenesis. Oxidative stress usually caused by the imbalance between antioxidants and pro-oxidants. Additionally, a chronic inflammatory state is typically modulated by oxidative stress. Inflammation plays a critical role in chronic health conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, insulin resistance, arthritis and cancer. Numerous studies indicate that there is a strong relationship between TC and the inhibition of inflammation and oxidative damage by regulating different epigenetic and metabolic pathways.
