Unmasking the unusual: When common symptoms hide a rare condition
A 2-year-old male child presented with mass in the lower back region from 6 months of age. Radiological investigations revealed well marginated lobulated heterogenous predominantly hyperintense lesion suggestive of sacrococcygeal rhabdomyosarcoma. Histopathology revealed a heterogenous tumor comprising of areas of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma with interspersed ganglioneuroblastoma- schwannian stroma poor areas. Immunological examination confirmed the diagnosis of ectomesenchymoma.
