Investigation of the Effects of Minimally Invasive Facial Plastic Surgery Applications on Well-Being of Individuals.
Objectives: The authors aimed to investigate the impact of minimally invasive procedures on individuals' quality of life and well-being.
Methods: The study group consisted of patients who had undergone minor facial interventions. There are 3 main interventions: Botulinum Toxin injections, volumizing with fillers, and transcutaneous suture lifts. The control group consisted of healthy subjects who did not undergo minor facial interventions. Two questionnaires were administered to the study and control groups: the self-assessment of well-being and the PERMA Well-being Score.
Results: In the minor intervention group, the mean self-assessment well-being scores ranged from 8 to 10 on a 0 to 10 scale, compared with 6 in the control group. In the minor intervention group, the mean PERMA Well-Being Scores ranged from 110 to 160 on a 0 to 230 scale, whereas they were 90 in the control group. Minor interventions led to greater well-being among patients, including Botulinum Toxin injections in the periorbital region (160), Transcutaneous Suture Lifts for the lower face and mandibular definition (150), Volumizing with fillers in the lips (140), and Botulinum Toxin injections in the forehead (130).
Conclusions: As a result of minor facial plastic interventions, patient satisfaction and well-being levels may improve. In particular, neurotoxin applications are procedures that contribute to a positive patient experience. Midface fillers aim to uplift the lower face and enhance mandibular definition. It seems that humans are keen on their appearance and continuously try to improve it. Satisfaction with the procedure and self-esteem vary widely among individuals, highlighting the importance of careful patient selection.
