Connexin 43 and Atypical Chemokine Receptor 3 in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells of Patients With Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage.
The expression levels of connexin 43 (Cx43) and atypical chemokine receptor 3 (ACKR3) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) and their predictive value for cerebral vasospasm (CVS) were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 131 patients with aSAH were included in this study (49 males and 82 females) all of whom had headache as the first manifestation. The results showed that the mRNA expression of Cx43 and ACKR3 in PBMCs of patients with aSAH was significantly increased. The results of ROC curve showed that the combination of the two indicators was expected to assist clinical judgement in predicting the occurrence of CVS in patients with aSAH, which could be helpful for screening patients with high risk of CVS.
